After the fulfilment of reaching 200 Racing Show Podcasts last week The Racing Show embarked on their first ever Safari!
Yes, Adi and his ever-faithful carer Bob drove up to Lambourn.
Yes, the beautiful Berkshire village was our destination as we went in the hunt for three good friends of the Racing Show, Roger Teal, Colin Brown and Jamie Snowden.

We called in at Roger Teal’s first for a chat and some welcome coffee and after refreshments Roger introduced us to Dancing Gemini who was waiting patiently for his lunch, as he prepares for a race in Deauville on August 16th.
You could soon tell he was top dog as our arrival delayed his lunch!

Next up was old favorite Oxted who also seemed full of himself as Roger explained he is trying to persuade his wife to allow a return to the track for the stables other star performer.
But time waits for no man and we had to wave a grateful goodbye to Roger and his two stars and move on and quite how I don’t know but we ended up at a pub!!
Yes, it was time to meet Colin Brown in the Greyhound Inn, Letcombe Regis which was an entertaining exchange as he explored the racing and training background of the village.

After refreshments we moved on to meet up with Jamie Snowden at his Folly House Stables.
Now there is a story related to Jamie as he has been a part of the show for getting on for 200 shows but I have never had the opportunity to meet up with Jamie in person.
Amazing isn’t but’s the way it is so it was a great pleasure to finally shake his hand and thank him for his commitment to The Racing Show.
So as with Roger, Jamie introduced us to his star performer GA Law and his faithful head lady Kate.

What a handsome fellow GA Law is!
I’d have loved to bring him home with me, he was such a friendly horse, but I don’t expect Jamie would have been too keen and he wouldn’t fit in a Ford Puma!
Time had moved on and with a long drive back to Somerset to undertake we had to bid our thanks and goodbyes to Jamie and GA Law and head home.

Despite a horrendous hold up at Bristol we made it home after a very rewarding visit to Lambourn, one of the two headquarters of racing.
Thanks to Roger, Colin and Jamie for a great first Safari, but it won’t be the last as plans are a foot to travel south west to Cullumpton but more on that later.
